Merchandising and Licensing

The Adelphi University name and marks are some of our most important assets. They help to identify us as being a great major metropolitan university. All members of our University community have a responsibility to protect and promote our brand in a manner consistent with our reputation as a university that offers world-class academics in conjunction with a relentless passion for student success.

The Adelphi University Merchandise Licensing Program helps protect and promote our brand by ensuring that the public can properly identify and associate the University’s name and logos with officially licensed products that have been approved by the University. The University requires that all members of the University community (faculty, students, staff and alumni), as well as all external manufacturers and vendors, obtain approval before producing any product that displays the Adelphi University name or marks.

To comply with federal, state and international trademark laws, Adelphi University is required to monitor and control all uses of its trademarks. The Adelphi Licensing Program is managed by Learfield Licensing Partners, an outside agency, and is administered through the Office of University Communications and Marketing. 

There are more than 60 vendors licensed to manufacture products that bear Adelphi’s trademarks—all merchandise orders must be filled by one of these licensed vendors.

All merchandise and/or promotional items funded through University accounts must bear an official Adelphi University identifier. In addition to these licensing guidelines, please review more specific information regarding the use of the University name and logos.
